Possible SCAM!

Back in 2005 I had a credit card with First National Bank, long story short I just stopped paying on that credit card so it ended up going to collections with a company called Plaza Associate, 2009 I got an inheritance and we decided to pay off all our debt because we were trying to buy a house, well it turned out that paying off all our debt made our credit look worse because by paying off all our debt now our credit was getting hit and lenders want to see you with debt, which they look at  how you handle your debt, anyways I am going off track here. We paid off Plaza Associates which was representing their client First National Bank so they could get their money. We received a receipt on their letterhead stating that the debt was paid and settled. Here we are 4 years later I received a phone call from a unknown number on my cell phone that I DO NOT GIVE OUT so beings I had no clue who was calling me I didnt answer it, they left a message stating that they were a company called Division 1 and her name was Mya Green and that if she dont hear from me they will be starting a legal matter for me to pay off my First National Bank account, whoa whoa whoa wait a minute this was PAID in 2009, so I continued to listen to the voice message and they said I need to call 1-866-229-7126 extension 116, so I called the number and the same Mya Green chick who left the message on my phone answered when I called, and I said... I received a voice mail stating I need to call this number and get transferred to extension 116, so I was placed on hold for like 5 minutes, a lady answered the phone stating her name is Leslie Anderson with The Winchester Group, it was the SAME LADY with the so called name Mya Green, okay so now this is a little weird, so I let her do her talking.. She mumbles and I didnt hear what she was mumbling and then she goes OHHH RED FLAG!!! Lets look here.... and she started  saying "You owe a debt to First National Bank in the sum of one thousand something something dollars", im like hmm okay, but im pretty sure this was paid. Then she said "Well if you look at your credit report, line five, yada yada yada you will see you owe this debt" Then once again I said im pretty sure this is paid and you are incorrect, then she said that I still owe this, this is now a criminal matter.... wait wait im sorry civil matter and that I have to pay this by Friday and if its not paid by friday shes going to have papers served to me and an automatic flat rate legal fee of $4000 dollars will be tacked on to this account. im like WHAT!!! So she went on that she is prepared to collect that $1000 dollars over the phone to clear up this legal matter, once again its no legal matter this is PAID, so I told the lady, I need to look into some stuff, talk to my wife but this is PAID, "well Sir we have no choice but go off of the word of First National Bank and I have it in my power to seize your two vehicles and assets" At this point its getting REALLY fishy.... So I told the lady I gotta go, and she said... "Be sure to call me back by Friday, I dont have time to make phone calls, but I do have time to take your call when you call me on Friday to get this legal matter paid"

I get off the phone and I am texting my wife Jeniece letting her know what took place, she started getting lived.... I got into my binder of all our debt we paid off and I had the proof in my hands that the account was PAID!!! I called this so called Division 1 or Winchester company back, but this time when I called this so called Leslie Anderson answered "Winchester this is Leslie Anderson" wait a minute, the first time I called The lady said her name was Mya Green with Division 1 and she knew who it was, I pretty much told them they can suck it and that this account is PAID and that I have the proof that its paid, well Sir that will do no justice.... Whatever its PAID I hung up... Jeniece came home on her lunch and called this so called company back, she was hung up on several times, was told she needs to grow up and learn how to pay her debt, in the mean time... the SAME Lady claimed to be Mya Green, Leslie Anderson and Tina Cockran. Jeniece DEMANDED to speak to her manager, she claimed she didnt have a manager, so she asked for the person above her.... Some Micheal Benjamin who stated he was a lawyer got on the phone, Jeniece demanded their address.... Turns out the address they gave was of a UPS store in Riverside California

We looked into the company and the company doesn't exist, we looked up all 3 business names they were using and also googled 'who called me from 8662297126' and turns out we are not the only ones that have dealt with this, there are similar complaints from this same so called company and that its a SCAM, we went ahead and called our local police department and got some information from a police officer. The police officer had us look into the 'Fair Debt Collection Act' everything they were saying and doing is completely against the law, and any debt collection company collecting a debt MUST use the words "This is an attempt to collect a debt" at the beginning of all communication collecting that debt and also have zero power on seizing anything from anyone.

For shits and giggles I called them back later in the day asked to speak to Leslie at extention 116 and she just so happen to be out of the office and she would transfer me to someone that could help me, after a brief hold, a lady by the name of Wendy Richardson got on the phone. However it was the same lady as Mya Green, Leslie Anderson, Tina Cockran and now Wendy Richardson

Today May 16th, just made a phone call using Skype to be able to not let them know I was calling, a lady answered..... "Winchester Investments Group, how can I direct your call"

Can we say SCAM!!!!

No, Thanks!

I am pretty much okay with visiting almost any state in the United States, however I don't care to visit any other country and that includes our neighbors to the north.... Canada, no offence to some Canadians I know but I find Canadians very rude when they come down to the United States, they will pretty much run you off the highway and they seem to think its okay to go 80mph in a 70mph zone.

On my list of states in the United States that I really want to visit is New York, Florida, Alaska, Texas that is pretty much it, all the other states I only care to drive through as I am going to travel to the mentioned states.

Punishing Children

I am pretty disgusted by peoples actions they would take when it comes to punishing a child. You may punish your child in ways that involve the form of Corporal Punishment, but there are more effective ways then striking at a child and next time you go to spank your own children I would really suggest you look up the law in your state, just list off a couple of states....

Idaho:
Child Abuse includes a physical strike to a child in which inflicted by a parent or other person in whom legal custody 16-2002. [Civil Code]

Washington:
Physical use of discipline to a child is the result of excessive corporal punishment. This will result in criminal charges against a parent/guardian/custodian who administers 9A.16.100. [Criminal Code]

and just a little FYI

Spanking is a mild form of corporal punishment. The American Academy of Pediatrics (as well as many child development experts) strongly opposes ever striking a child. It's not an effective or positive approach to discipline

It teaches your child that violence is an acceptable way to express anger and deal with conflict. This contradicts the rest of how you are trying to raise your child.

It's harmful emotionally for you. Have you ever felt wonderful after hitting a child? Spanking often leads to remorse, guilt, and doubts about the quality of your own parenting skills. Avoid the agony-resist the urge to smack. It's a very unpleasant sensation to feel like a bully.

It's harmful emotionally for the child. Spanking is traumatic, makes a child feel as though there's something wrong with her (instead of something wrong with her behavior), creates resentment, and can lead to body image and self image problems.

Spanking tells a child she is powerless. A powerless person will act out, leading to more problems.
Spanking is disrespectful to the child, and it doesn't help teach respectful values or standards.
It breaks trust and invades a child's sense of security.

It halts effective communication.

Where do you go from there? Once you resort to physical discipline, the only steps “up” are more, or stronger physical discipline. Don't start down that path.

It doesn't work! In the very, very short term, you may stop the misbehavior. The backlash is not worth the very, very short term.

How anyone can spank, hit a child without guilt is just SICK! Thats all I got to say.

Places...

It has been brought to my attention that I have not been 'daily blogging' first of all I have two kids ages 3 months and 2 years and I tell you what they take all my time during the day, so I was also asked why I dont update my blog at night, well after getting both boys asleep, I am typically asleep while getting my oldest boy asleep. I have found time to update my blog because my 3 month old is asleep and my 2 year old is busy playing with the vacuum in the kitchen which I just jinks myself because he came to pull me in the kitchen to show me all the cool stuff he is doing like burning down the kitchen, okay im just kidding about that... I really try to update this daily, I have mentioned before I subscribe to a few blogs that give me daily blogging topics and they stay open in my email all day long and well that daily blog never happens so I will give this a shot while I have the chance.

Todays blog topic is places.... Right now I would rather be where I was last summer and that is camping, I had so much fun with my wife and my son camping but in all honestly my oldest son at the time was a little too young to be camping well for as long as we were going to be camping for, I would of loved to camp longer but the whole trip in a nutshell sucked because he kept on getting hurt, I am looking forward to this summer and hope we can try the whole camping thing again but then again we will have a second son around the same age Chayce was so it will be more fun for Chayce but we will be dealing with the same crap we dealt with Chayce.....

So thats where I would rather be right now, I would love it to be summer, relaxing with my family, wife, and my two boys just enjoying life and forgetting about the stresses of life.

Lets shoot for this daily blog thing and actually make it daily.... :) I can always try again tomorrow.... Take Care.

Call Me, Maybe

Cell phones in my opinion are the biggest buzzing nuisance ever invented, people are so glued to the ear with them and people actually would say they would DIE without their phone, then they went one step further and came out with what is called a Smart Phone which are far from Smart but a SMART idea, instead of hauling around your phone, computer and everything else you could think of, you have access to all of that right on the little device called a Smart Phone

I however am pleased to announce I am an owner of a new iPhone 5, however I wouldn't have this phone if I would of never of lost my iPhone 4s I love the iPhone 5 so much better, its lighter, thinner and the tad bit bigger size screen is great.

Sliced Bread

You know the old term 'That's the best thing since sliced bread' really was sliced bread such the greatest thing? or was that just the start of people becoming lazy? A lot of things I feel we need to go back to doing things before 'bread was pre-sliced' Where everything you did took a little effort.

I am going to end this blog post right here because I don't really have anymore to say, I have mentioned in a blog posting that I subscribe to a blog that gives you daily topics to blog about, well this just so happen to be one of them for yesterday that I am blogging about today and obviously that's all I can write about that topic, maybe this calls for a second blog posting for today.

We shell see...

Tweet or not to Tweet

Are you on Twitter? Do you even know what Twitter is? If you have no clue what Twitter is then you must be living under a rock. In a nut shell.... Twitter is.... an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets" (Source Wikipedia)

I have twitter to keep up with news sources and its just so basic and it gets the information across in 140 or less characters without having to read something that is pages and pages long when all you really wanted to read was what happen and what took place, etc.

Are you a Twit? I mean do you Tweet?

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, having an almost 2 year old and a 2 month old takes up alot of time, and blog posting is not one I seem to have time for, but I will try my best to get DAILY blog postings.

Toot Your Horn

One of my favorite blogs to read is a blog that is updated daily and it helps bloggers come up with blog ideas to write about, I am not one that has really anything to say unless i'm given a certain topic and I run with it. So today's topic i'm suppose to toot my own horn and pretty much brag about myself, well I don't have that big enough ego to write about myself and brag to make myself sound better then I am, it also asks to write what I am not good at and that would be a long list and I don't want to bore anyone with that.

I can tell you one of my biggest down falls is writing for example this blog, alot of my writing stays open on my computer unpublished because I don't know how to word certain things or how to write about it, which is why there are days I have no choice but just not blog all together because I have no clue how to blog, it pretty much takes me all day to come up with something to write.

There rather then brag about something that totally makes me sound AMAZING, I did the complete opposite.

Thats all for now, sorry for the short blogs, but my family comes first. This is just a passer bye.

National dress up your pet day?

Today is January 14th and that could only mean ONE THING!!!!! It is National Dress up your pet day!!! WTF Why would I dress up my pet when I have a hard enough time dressing my 2 year old son? What is up with all these 'National Days' everyday it is something, whatever happen to just your holidays its like they want to turn everyday into some sort of holiday, maybe they should make these so called National Days like paid holiday and you get the day off from work... In other words these National Days are really dumb.

If you could create a National Day, what would you choose, and I bet whatever you choose it is already a National Day...

Don't forget that tomorrow is National Hat Day.

How to explode a coke can.

You can explode your very own coke can in 2 easy steps.

  1. Put a can of coke in the fridge.
  2. Forget about it.
When you hear an explosion inside your freezer, you have successfully exploded a coke can, resulting in a huge mess to clean up afterwords. Good Luck!

TIME OUT!!!!

Switching gears just a little bit, this is not the original  blog topic I was going to blog about but since I am currently dealing with this topic I thought I would blog about it, one of the toughest things with my almost 2 year old son has been his lack of listening and it has only gotten worse since our new born came into the picture November 19th and within the past couple days he really has been at the peek of his worseness, well at lease its the worse that we have seen him, im sure as he gets more into his 2s and 3s he will be worse then he is now, so as of today he is going to learn what time out is going to be like and so far within the past 15 minutes he has had two 2 minute time outs that consist of him having to sit in a chair and not move for 2 minutes and boy he DON'T LIKE IT.

I am really interested in other parents tips on this subjects, punishing a child without hitting them, when I was a child my mom spanked me bear bottom with a ping pong paddle, and it wasn't one of those paddles that was made of rubber or hard plastic, it was wooden with a sandpaper type surface, one of my good friends was spanked with a belt and inside the belt would be like a tally system.

Just read a very interesting post by Dr Sears in regards to time out.... '10 Time-out Techniques' pretty good read.

Think Happiness

I'm not one that really cares for paintings but one of my most all time favorite paintings in the world is of all these  'blue balls' (no thats not suppose to be a joke) with sad faces and then there is this one and only ball with a happy face, the happy face ball represents a very small percent of people that are happy and they have to be surrounded by everyone that is unhappy in this world. Everyone thinks that money buys happiness, when in doubt money buys nothing but greed, if you change your way of thinking when it comes to money and you have only $1 dollar in your bank account, you are considered rich.

Here are some very interesting facts and maybe it will change your way of thinking, and 'Think Happiness'
  • "If you have food, clothes, and a roof over your head, you are richer then 75% of the world. "
  • "If you have $10 dollars, you are part of the 8% of the worlds wealthy"
  • "If you woke up with more health then sickness, you are more blessed then the millions worldwide that will die this week"
  • "If you haven't experienced war at first hand, you are luckier then the 500 million suffering"
If you are able to read the above statements, you are in fact more fortunate then over 3 million people unable to read them at all. So change your way of thinking be that one happy face in a crowd of unhappy people, let them be unhappy but only you can be happy. Happiness is as simple as looking at your family, yourchildren and that is what happiness is all about.

Kick the bucket!

Have you ever had a bucket list? First alot of people dont have a clue what a bucket list even is, it is basicly a lifetime 'To-Do' list, a complete list you would like to complete before you die, I really dont have a bucket list as of right now, life seems to go really fast and if I even think of making such list then it will never happen. I seem to have a hard enough time crossing off the things on my normal everyday 'To-Do' list, things like laundry, dishes, dust, misc cleaning, etc. Maybe as the kids get older I can focus on a so called bucket list. But I guess it never hurts to come up with a Bucket List just to say I have one and things I would like to accomplish in life, but if I would to pick just one of the items on my so called  list to talk about I would pick 'Go on a really nice Vacation' but that would be about the 11th item on my list because its not the biggest priority, but I wouldnt mind going on a really nice Vacation and it doesnt have to be any particular place it could be as simple as driving from one end of the united state to the other and maybe see New York City because I have always wanted to go down to New York, then drive down to Florida just to see how big the bugs down their really are, after that I would want to hop on over to Illinois and see Alligators, and maybe come home, I dont really have any interest in any of the other states.

So do you have a Bucket List? If so what is say.... Your 11th item on that list, why 11? least priority item....
